Top 5 Beauty Essentials for Summer

With the weather warming and summer just around the corner, I thought it was only fitting to share my top 5 summer beauty essentials with you! These are the 5 top things that will keep you not only feeling great but also looking fantastic.

1. Drink more water
If you think you drink enough, drink more! Water is not only essential in keeping your body healthy on the inside, but it also plays an essential role in keeping your skin hydrated and glowing. We should be aiming for around 2L a day at the very least! Remember, by the time you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. It can be easy to forget to drink during the day, so I suggest purchasing and keeping a BPA free water bottle with you every day.

2. Wear Sunscreen!
We have all heard the term 'there's nothing healthy about a tan'. Here in Australia we have such a high instance of skin cancer cases that lead to death it's very scary. So look after your skin to give yourself the best chance at avoiding this horrible disease. Not only will sunscreen keep your skin healthy, it will also keep it looking youthful and prevent wrinkles and age spots. I love the beach and the sun and I still get a nice summer tan even when wearing 45+ sunscreen.

Tip - make sure you get a sunscreen specifically for your face. The face sunscreens tend to be a little less greasy and won't block your pores so much

3. Hair treatments
Summer is our hairs worst nightmare. Sun, salt and heat can prove seriously damaging through the warmer months. This is why I will use a home hair treatment once a week during summer. It's also a great idea to get an oil for every day use such as Morrocan oil. Smooth this through your tresses every day for some extra protection and an injection of moisture.

4. Tinted moisturiser
There is nothing worse than smacking on and sweating through thick foundations when the weather gets warmer. I have fallen in love with and swear by tinted moisturisers. They provide a decent amount of coverage and remain so light on your skin. A tinted moisturiser is an absolute must for summer beauty!

5. Moisturiser
If you want that beautiful summer glowing skin, you need to make sure you have a great skin regime. I moisturise after every shower in summer to give my skin a big drink after being outside and exposed to the elements. This is especially necessary if you've been burnt to help your skin not to peel! Beautiful skin is a statement. Look after the skin your in, your skin is after all the largest organ of your body!

Home made hair mask...

This is so simple but it will leave your hair feeling so soft and beautiful!!!

You will need
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 avocado
- 2 tbsp of honey

Mix these ingredients together and massage through your hair. Then pop on a shower cap and leave it to sit for half an hour. Then wash out! How easy is that!

So many are inspired by you, but tell us what inspires you every day??

Like minded people who are passionate about health and fitness and being the best they can be everyday! Also the 2 most amazing men in my life, my fiancé and my dad inspire me everyday to be a better person :)

You have a masters in fashion, what are your thoughts on women's activewear these days?

Love them! Favorites have to be Nike and Stella McCartney. Obsessed with neons at the moment and Nike is just killing it with their new free run colors, prints & designs!

If you had one week to spend however you pleased, how would you spend it?

Hands down on an island with my fiancé chilling, tanning, sipping on fresh coconuts!

You give out a lot of excellent information to your followers, do you have any advice to others on how to find information they may be seeking?

Be pro active and do your research! There are lots of great articles online and books you can get to read up on anything you're unsure about! There is so much to learn about your body, health and nutrition!

If you could invite any 3 people join you for a dinner party who would you choose?

Christine Centenrena, fashion editor of Vogue Austalia, Emmanuelle Alt, Editor in chief of Vogue Paris and her assistant stylist Geraldine Saglio. I know this is not fitness related AT all but they are my ultimate style icons, and extremely influential women in the fashion industry, and fashion has been a big passion of mine for many many years.

We absolutely love your fitness page, but tell us 3 things un fitness related about yourself that we don't know yet?

I'm getting married to my best friend and soulmate next April! Luckiest girl ever, so excited!

I was born in Singapore, lived in Bangkok for a 3 years where I went to an International high school, and have been rliving in Melbourne for the last 7 years. As a result my accent is a weird hybrid of Aussie/American lol.
